Directors Notes

FORTRESS BY: MICHEAL SCANLON

DIRECTOR: RACHEL RHYMER

January 2003 two young girls set out to see the planet Krypton to be drama missionaries to the native people there. When they arrived the all-powerful leader of the Kruptonians, Dreiling, put the young girls in charge of the SCHAUSPIELER. A group of trained actors, actresses, and tech robots. "Put on a play." he said, and so they did. They worked for weeks and weeksand each and every Kryptonian contributed their talent and creativity in their own special way. Everyday the wounderful Kryptonians helped their directors to put on the best play in the universe. Before the girls left the planet Krypton they thanked the powerful leader, Dreiling, for giving them this grand opportunity to create, imagine, and be leaders, too. A special thank you to the cast, crew, and assistant director, Marisa. You are truely my Fortress.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: MARISA WILZMAN

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Dreiling for giving me the opportunity to be the assistant director and encouraging me when I needed it the most. Also, thanks to everyone who made this one of the most educationable and enjoyable experiences. Rachel for treating me like an equal and NOT like an under-dog. Emily, James, and the tech crew for the hours and hours of work they put in to make this show awsome. The cast for sticking with me as I leadrned, as well as staying determined through the most stressful times. I wish I had the words to express my gratitude, but as far as I know, they don't exist. I love and thank you and our audiences for supporting us.

RASH ACTS BY: ***UNKNOWN***

CO-DIRECTOR: BRANDY JONES

To my wounderfulactors and actresses, thanks for all your hard work. I'm so proud of each and every one of you. Have a great show, I know you will do GREAT!!! To my hero's (Techies), thanks for all you do. You guys and girls are very talented. I love you all!!! Last but not least, to wavy gravy (a.k.a. Dreiling) for giving me the chance. I'm still the best chomper.

CO-DIRECTOR: KEVIN MALOOF

Directing this show was the hardest and most stressful job I have ever had in my life. Given something like five weeks, meeting only three times a week for only a limited time to have rehersals, build, paint, create costumes, and everythind else is a huge challenge in directing a show. Not to mention being in the musical that closed Sunday, which used all of the flats and our lights. I also had to deal with school, home, class act, and the big graduation test. Oh, and don't forget about being a hormonal, socially driven, high school student. It has made these past five weeks a little bit of HELL. Okay al I realy want out of high school is some great experiences and knowledge. So, I really should not complain about anything. Given an opportunity to direct a show is a chance no one should give up. So, sincerely thank you Mr. Dreiling for this opportunity to direct these actors and techies. to have this chance to present my vision, despite how blurry it is sometimes, to the world it is a wounderful opportunity. I believe that each of us involved in this show have learned so much about theatre and ourselves. Big Handler!!!

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: DANIEL LEFEVER

Well, I'm the technical director for this play. It is the first time I have ever done something this big. Some say a great leader has a great army. Well, I don't know how well of a director I am or was. Though, I know the technical crew is awsome. They put in alot of work. I am so proud of all of you. Thanks to everybody.

THEATRE IMPROVEMENT CREW DIRECTOR: MICHELLE DAVIS

We are an all female drama room wreak crew. We threw down on some crazy sound booth action. AND looked hot doin' it. Thank you all so.
